Try the White Hot (whole-milk mozzarella, Italian sausage, shredded pepperoncini, and red pepper flakes) or one of the more traditional pies. The sandwiches, panini and calzones are also worth a try. This order-at-the-counter spot also has beautifully-constructed salads, including the Mediterranean, the Chopped Italian, and the Apples and Bleu. Be sure and save room for the homemade gelato. They have 12 varieties on hand at all times, including traditional Italian varieties such as the Stracciatella (with chocolate chips) and the Italian Roast Coffee, flecked with real ground coffee.

Here's the drill: Order your food and drinks at the cash register. Don't pay yet. Grab any available table and wait. The cook will call your name from the kitchen window.
